18 Mar Website Refresher
Thank you to our website team (Emily Collins, Patti Hansen and Katie Rawls) for the hours they have spent creating an online presence for CVQA. It continues to be a learning experience for all of us, but the work is paying off, as the majority of new members are finding us on the internet and joining via the website.
If you’re still a bit confused about how to navigate our online presence, here is a refresher.
CVQA.org
This is our website. It is open to the public. This is where you go if you want to “google” CVQA. The website tells the world Who we are; What we do; and How we do it. And there are lots of photos of us doing “it.” If you have a friend who is interested in visiting a meeting – or joining – send them to our website to learn more about CVQA.
Our meeting calendar and member registration form are available on the website.
CVQA.org/newsletter
This is where you go – or where you went! – to read the newsletter. You can find the newsletter here at any time – you don’t have to wait for the monthly email telling you the newsletter is ready.
While the newsletter is meant for members, if a non-member knows this link, they can read the newsletter, too.
If you are reading this article, you have figured out that the newsletter is presented in a preview format, showing the title and first sentence or two of each article. To read the full article, you click on the title. Click on the back button to return to the preview format.
The most recent newsletter articles appear first. To read past newsletter articles, just scroll down the page.
CVQA.org/login
This is where you go to enter the member portal, which gives you access to the membership directory and official guild documents – like our bylaws, standing rules, and meeting minutes.
Only CVQA members in good standing can enter the member portal. “Good standing” means you have paid your dues OR you are a lifetime member.
To access the member portal, you will need your username and password. If you don’t know your username, contact Katie Rawls and she will find it for you. If you don’t know your password, click the “forgot password” button and follow the steps to create a new password.
Word to the wise: write down your username and password!
Getting comfortable with our online presence is a bit like learning a new quilting technique. It may be scary and awkward at first, but it gets easier each time you sit down to make a new block. If you need help navigating the website, don’t hesitate to reach out to Patti Hansen (cvqaweb@gmail.com) or Katie Rawls (cvqamail2@gmail.com).
