Since the last newsletter we donated thirty Owl Buddies to Tennessee Kids Belong for their video tapings of children up for adoption. I hope all of the Owl Buddies find a new home! At our CVQA June meeting, we received eleven quilts, sixteen bags, five walker caddies, nine pillowcases, seven Owl Buddies, and one quilt top. Keep ‘em coming! Our workdays are the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at the Bethesda...

At the May meeting we received 13 finished quilts, numerous pillowcases and totes, and an entire flock of Owl Buddies. And wasn't our May meeting wonderful? Our speakers from Love on Wheels, Tennessee Kids Belong, and Bridges of Williamson County delivered great presentations on their organizations AND what our contributions mean to the recipients. There is no doubt your efforts and time are being cherished by the recipients in our community. WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE! This month we delivered 50...

[gallery ids="2313,2314,2312,2311,2310,2309,2308,2307"] The Community Care Committee has had an active month! We received sixteen quilts, and numerous Owl Buddies, totes, pillowcases, and walker caddies at our March meeting. Thank you! Since the last newsletter we donated twenty-two baby quilts to Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for their annual service women's baby shower. Shout out to CVQA member Jan Edleson, who connected us with her Old Glory Chapter of DAR for the donation. I took the baby quilts to Jan's home while her DAR buddies were there and they ooh’d and aah’d...

[gallery ids="2259,2258,2257,2256,2255"] Hello quilters! I have not given out any quilts since the last newsletter, but I promise quilts and other items will be leaving the shelves at Bethesda in the next couple of weeks! Community Care Committee received 15 quilts at the February guild meeting. Keep those quilts, pillowcases, Owls, totes, and walker caddies coming in! At the March meeting, I plan to have a small table set up with projects in the hall going to the restrooms. So come to the hall and pick up a project or two before you...

We received 22 quilts (including 10 baby quilts), 8 bags, 4 pillowcases, and 8 Owl Buddies. That's a great start for 2026! We will continue to provide baby quilts for the service women and veterans’ baby shower in May, sponsored by Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). There will be several baby quilt kits on our table at the February guild meeting for you to take home and quilt, or you can make a quilt from your...

Happy New Year ladies! We finished off 2025 with a housecleaning: We gave away all our ladies quilts (24 of them), all our pillowcases (21), all our Owl Buddies (13), and all our totes (6) to Bridges of Williamson County for their Christmas party. The party is for all the ladies that are currently living at the domestic violence shelter and for the ladies that have completed their yearlong program. I can't think of a better place for our donations to go to. It takes a lot of bravery to...

Wow! Our Community Care Committee received 27 quilts, 17 Owl Buddies, and totes and pillowcases at the November meeting! In addition to that, Carol Stankiewicz donated five beautiful quilts for the domestic violence center's Christmas party. We have 22 women's quilts right now and I expect to get a few more at the December holiday party, so we will have enough for Bridges of Williamson County's Christmas party for women who have completed their yearlong program, and women who are currently staying at the shelter. Thank you all for your...

Even though we haven't had in-person meetings for two months, CCC has received/finished up six quilts - and I’m sure I will be taking away a carload of quilts at our November meeting! We are in need of ladies’ quilts for the domestic violence center (Bridges of Williamson County) Christmas party for women that have completed their program. I have about nine quilts and will need about 20 or more. So, if you have an extra quilt or two lying around, please bring it to the November or December meeting. This...

Not too much has taken place since the last newsletter. I have not given out any more quilts this month and will distribute quilts and other items in the weeks to come. If you have finished quilts or projects for our committee, you can drop them off at the Quilting Squares quilt shop. Just let them know it’s for me or the Community Care Committee. We have our work days on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Bethesda Senior Center on Bethesda Road. HOWEVER, I am cancelling...
