President’s Message October 2025

My calendar says that it’s Fall!! I sure hope that weather reports are in sync!!

Just like you, I was super disappointed with the need to cancel our September Guild meeting. Kathleen Hardin, the organized lady that she is, was all set and ready to share her traveling adventures with us at that meeting. However, when I spoke with her on the telephone, she was very gracious regarding the cancellation, and we hope that she can reschedule her presentation for some time in 2026. By the time that you read this, she may already be off on a new adventure! She and her husband do like to travel!! I also was disappointed that members were unable to share their award-winning quilts from this summer’s Williamson County Fair. Please be sure to bring your Fair quilts to our November meeting for Show n’ Tell!!

Karen Bays does not miss a beat!! Kudos to her for having a back-up plan for drop-offs for Community Care items. In the absence of our two in-person meetings (September and October) items can be dropped off at The Quilting Squares (thank you Ann Hill) or bring them to the Bethesda Senior Citizens Center on October 9th.

Michelle has done a fabulous job of creating new and exciting programs for us this past year. I think that our small groups have been lots of fun, and I hope that the groups will continue on into 2026. I know that our UFO Group is going to be stitching together next year! Likewise, our October field trips are going to be fun and educational. If you’ve ever wondered what YOU should do to prepare your quilt for the long-armer – or what actually happens to your quilt after you drop it off – then you won’t want to miss our October Long Arm Field trips. If you haven’t signed up yet, do it ASAP so Michelle can finalize the tour groups.

November is scheduled to be a fun meeting with LOTS and LOTS of Show and Tell items. We’ll see oodles of quilts, along with Christmas in July craft items, creations from the various small groups, hopefully some Outta Your Box creations, and of course, Show n’ Tell quilts, including Fair Ribbon Winning items. However, before the showcase of beautiful items we do have some important business to tackle. Be sure to review the 2026 Budget that is attached to the newsletter email that Katie sends out. If you have questions or observations, you can contact Beth Bryant via her email. We will discuss and then vote on the budget at our November meeting.

Mary Jo and her nominating team have done a great job assembling a slate of officers for 2026. As you will see in the article below, we still have one vacancy, the role of Recording Secretary. If you’d like to join the awesome group that will lead the Guild next year, don’t hesitate to give Mary Jo a call and volunteer, and…. we always have yummy goodies at our Board Meetings.

Looking forward to our October long-arm field trips and next month’s November in-person meeting.

Keep on Quiltin’……… Lots of Hugs, Joyce
