21 Feb Quilt Show 2027
Buckle up!
We are ready to begin developing committees and plans for the 2027 CVQA Quilt Show! Marianne Cooley and Shirley Whittaker are leading the charge (THANK YOU ladies!), and we’re thrilled by the list of great people already signed up, especially those from 2024. As you know, this event takes a village (translation: we need all the help we can get) so please join us to make the 2027 Quilt Show our best yet!
Here is what we know so far – and how you can help!
- If you’d like to be on the Quilt Show committee, be sure and sign up at the March meeting or let Marianne or Shirley know.
- The Quilt Show budget is $2,000.
- Concord Road Church of the Nazarene (where we held our 2024 Quilt Show) is affordable and available for 2027.
- They will guarantee space one year ahead, whether Spring or Fall.
- The Facility Manager is the same great person we worked with last time.
- Last time we were allowed three days of space for the price of two. This time they want all three days paid for.
- We can hire church members to help set up and take down if necessary. We would negotiate these costs separately.
- Let Marianne or Shirley know if you have suggestions for other sites that would work within our budget.
- The Raffle Quilt application must be submitted this Fall (2026) for approval in January 2027. As a possible alternative, research is underway on a quilt auction.
- Vendors must be contacted early to accommodate their schedules. Please send us your suggestions for vendors, especially if you attend other quilt shows this year.
- We also would love to have your suggestions for a general theme for the show, a quilt contest, boutique and silent auction donations–whew! This is the time for everyone’s ideas!
- TAG, we expect another fascinating exhibit from you!
- We will need volunteers to pick up and deliver quilt racks, both CVQA and Williamson County Fair.
- Marketing on-line is in Fantastic Emily’s hands. Please contact her or Marianne with your ideas for content and contacts!
Our first meeting is Wednesday, March 11, at 10 a.m. We’ll check for meeting space at the Enrichment Center and Williamson County Library but for now, please plan to come to Marianne’s house (her address is in the Member Directory). If you can’t attend the meeting, please send your questions and suggestions via email to Marianne and Shirley.
Let’s get this party started!
