Community Care Committee

Wow! Our Community Care Committee received 27 quilts, 17 Owl Buddies, and totes and pillowcases at the November meeting! In addition to that, Carol Stankiewicz donated five beautiful quilts for the domestic violence center’s Christmas party. We have 22 women’s quilts right now and I expect to get a few more at the December holiday party, so we will have enough for Bridges of Williamson County’s Christmas party for women who have completed their yearlong program, and women who are currently staying at the shelter. Thank you all for your contributions!

We donated a Nashville themed quilt to Mercy Community Healthcare for their November fundraiser. Pictured is Emily of Mercy Community Healthcare and myself (Karen) holding up the “Nashville” quilt. Jeanette Sanford used this quilt top for her longarm demonstration in October, and she quilted it with a guitar pantograph design. Thank you, Jeanette! And thank you to all of you long arm ladies who used our quilt tops for your demos in October.

Our workdays are usually the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at the Bethesda Senior Center. However, due to the holidays, we will meet the 1st and 2nd Thursdays of December, which are December 4 and December 11. We start at 9 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. – bring your lunch!
