28 Dec Quilts of Valor Update – Dec. 2024

What a month (Dec.) this has been, and it isn’t over yet. We awarded 111 quilts in 2024 and have at least three more presentations already lined up for 2025. For those who think these quilts don’t matter, let me share:

I awarded a quilt to my dentist over two years ago, and I had an appointment for cleaning on Wednesday. He thanked me again for the beautiful quilt. Then told the hygienist about getting this beautiful quilt and a pillowcase made of Army fabric. The pillowcase goes with him when he travels, and he uses his quilt every night. You guys sure made this man happy. Thank you for your support and work.

I also made an award at Vet Court on 12/9, and it was an amazing time. The recipient was thrilled, and the audience loved the recognition given. You have no idea what the presentations mean to all folks associated with the Vet Court. I get comments from guys all the time about how much the quilt means to them. I have been told that the mentees look more forward to receiving a quilt than completing the program. This effort is possible because of your support.

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and expect a very Happy New year. A whole year to sew, what more could we ask for?
