20 Apr President’s Message – May 2026
Hurrah! April 15th, along with morning freezing temperatures are history. It is time to get our spring and summer gardens in order. I love seeing the flowers emerge, and I’ll soon be enjoying some fresh picked vegetables – yummy! I love this time of year! I feel frustrated, however, as our days seem to be flying by at jet speed!
Each month our Guild website becomes a more welcoming and valuable tool for each of us. I appreciate the efforts of Katie Rawls and Emily Collins, who are frequently fine tuning the site. It is comforting to know that Patti Hansen is in the wings to assist and respond to questions and requests when we need an answer or some help. It was helpful that Katie shared updates and showed how to access various website items at our April meeting. Thank you ladies for making this online experience user-friendly for all – newbies as well as our computer-savvy members.
Also at our April meeting, it was a treat to have Lynn Rinehart present her program on appraising the value of quilts. So much good information was shared about how and why appraisals are made. It was a great reminder to each of us to get our quilts appraised. It will be a peace of mind experience! Along with Lynn’s informative talk, many beautiful and creative quilts were showcased once again.
It was a happy moment to have Show n’ Tell this past month. The beautiful and creative quilts created by our Guild members are always a treat to behold. Thank you ladies for sharing your fabulous quilts.
And we had two members share their “Outta Your Box” projects. Valerie Curtis stitched a stunning quilted jacket – a first for Valerie! I must apologize. As I was admiring the second creation, I neglected to jot down the name of our second talented member. Please help me! Please step forward so that I can recognize both of you for stepping “Outta Your Box!”
I’m looking forward to our May Program when we get to learn ALL that Karen Bays and her Community Care Committee members do to bring comfort and joy to members of our community. What I do know is that they help with the healing of hurting members in our hometown. Thank you ladies for what you ”sew” beautifully do.
Enjoy our springtime weather and…….
See y’all in May….… Keep on Quiltin’……. Lots of Hugs, Joyce
