President’s Message – March 2025

Whew! My pansies survived the winter, the yellow and purple flowers are making me smile. Daffodils are poking up soon to have flowers. Yippee!! Spring is coming, my favorite time of year!! I love seeing new life in my gardens; the colors of springtime are so enticing.

We had a super Guild meeting in February. Weather cooperated for us that day. So much energy was in the room. It was great fun seeing so many smiling, happy faces. It seemed so long since we had met. Michelle organized a terrific program for us; it was a great way to begin our year. The explanation and review of what our Guild does and the many donations that we make to so many deserving organizations was a good reminder. You should all pat yourselves on the back for the hard work and generosity of each of you as Guild Members. Katie and Emily did a fantastic job of reviewing guidelines and “how to’s” of maneuvering our beautiful, but still a work in progress, website. Ya just gotta take a bit of time to play with it some afternoon or evening. It is so beautifully designed and quite user friendly. Then Michelle went on to talk about the small groups that are being organized for this year. Seems as though there is something for everyone, so many different topics. However, if you aren’t finding a group that “talks” to you, gather a few friends with like ideas and create your own. I’m excited to be sewing monthly at the Williamson County Library with about twelve other like-minded gals. We plan to get many UFOs completed this year!! Yea!!

Looking at the gorgeous quilts of our March guest speaker, Ann Moore, her trunk show should be fabulous! I’m excited to be taking her class on Wednesday and learning how to create that fabulous corded binding. So nice that she has prepared kits for each of us participants. It should be a fun day with lots to learn.

Please remember that I’m intrigued to see how members create something “Quilty” for my “Outta Your Box” challenge. It can be a new technique for you, using colors that are not normally “your” colors, or maybe you’ve recently learned a new hand-sewing technique, that list is endless. It should be something that is a “stretch” for you and that you want to share with Guild members.

I’m looking forward to a fun and fulfilling year. If the energy that we had at our February meeting is any indication, we’re in for a fabulous 2025!

See y’all in March…… Keep on Quiltin’……… Lots of Hugs, Joyce
