21 Mar Community Care Committee

Another month went by with contributions from you, thank you once again! At the March meeting, the Community Care Committee received 20 quilts, 9 of which were baby quilts. We also received 15 baby quilt tops from Valerie Curtis, along with fabric. We will sandwich these tops with batting, backing, and binding for you to pick up at the April meeting.

The DAR baby shower for service women is mid-May, so please finish up any baby quilts you are working on for our May guild meeting. We are also donating baby quilts to Graceworks “Our Little Angels” program, so if you miss the May meeting with completed baby quilts, those received later will find a home at Graceworks.

This month we donated 20 pillowcases, 7 tote bags, and 7 Owl Buddies to Love on Wheels. We also donated 5 quilts, 2 wheelchair buddies, and 6 walker caddies to Claiborne & Hughes Nursing & Rehab Facility. We will be donating quilts at the very end of March to Tennessee Kids Belong. I’ll let you know the total quantity in April.

Our workdays are the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at the Bethesda Senior Center. The next workdays are March 27, April 10 and April 17. We start at 9 am and end at 2 pm – bring your lunch!
