President’s Message – October 2026

This year has slipped by so very quickly. As you read this message it will officially be Autumn, a most colorful time of year! While our days seem to continue to be hot, mornings seem to be a bit cooler. However, with the onset of Fall, also comes the reality that the holidays are not far behind. I better get busy with my Christmas sewing!

Colleen has become a master at rescheduling our Guild programs this year. Unfortunately, Kiley Feron, our Zoom speaker for September cancelled the morning of our meeting due to being ill. All seemed to work out, however. Jeanette Sanford, who was going to do a brief presentation, got to have the entire scheduled time. What a gorgeous, awe-inspiring presentation it was. Many thanks. Word has it, that Jeanette’s Wednesday workshop was top-notch also.

Our October meeting should be a fun one. You may remember Rob Appell from several years ago; he will be with us once again. I captured a quote from one Rob’s online presentations, “I’m not the most accurate of quilt makers, but I’ve been told I’m one of the more fun quilt makers.” Get ready to be inspired and to have some fun!

Patsy Elliott shared her “Outta Your Box” creation. She stitched a Nativity quilt using the “wonder curve” ruler. Beautiful job Patsy. As always, Show-n-Tell was awesome! Thank you to all who shared your talents and your creations with us!

It’s that time of year when we vote on a new slate of officers. From what I’ve seen we should have a great 2027, guided by creative ladies. As a reminder, we vote at our November meeting and install the new board in December.

It’s time to put down the pen and pick up a needle and thread as I’m headed up to my favorite room in my home. I hope that you have a productive quilting month.

Looking forward to our October Meeting…… Keep on Quiltin’………

Lots of Hugs, Joyce
