Quilts of Valor

We presented 131 Quilts of Valor in 2025 – thank you all. I’ve received several thank you’s and thought I would share two with you.

The first, a vet that Jan recognized at a DAR pinning ceremony wrote, “The quilt I received is absolutely beautiful and I will treasure it for the rest of my life.”

The second came from the group that Kathleen awarded in Naples, Florida, at her RV camp: “Dear Quilts of Valor team, we are deeply touched and wish to express our sincere gratitude and admiration for your unwavering dedication and skill in creating these commemorative gifts. Your selfless contributions are deeply appreciated.”

Now you all know how much our veterans appreciate you.

Our January CVQA meeting was amazing:

  • We had 11 completed quilts turned in, 13 completed tops, and 2 more from Cathy Cazarka when I was at Quilting Squares.
  • Jan Edleson gave us two bolts of military fabric.
  • I had pillowcase kits and some were taken – but I did not see by whom, so whoever you are, thank you!
  • I had three quilts that needed binding and Mae Alt took all three.
  • Simonne turned in ten completed pillowcases.

It was surely a great day for our committee! I have presentations scheduled in the next two months and thanks to our committee, I will definitely be able to do them. Thank you!
