17 Oct Quilts of Valor
It has been an interesting time for us:
- We had a graduation at Vet Court on September 22. Eileen and Joyce attended with me to wrap the graduates in their quilts. There was a full house with lots of distinguished guests and the graduates loved their quilts. Thank you for supporting this noble cause.
- I supplied a bunch of quilts to Kathleen Hardin that she will present in November at her RV campground in Florida.
- We had a booth at Vet Fest on October 4, and presented six quilts to veterans. I also presented certificates of appreciation to Faye Baldwin and Laurel Bowman. They both work so hard to put the event on each year and always make sure I have a booth and vets to present quilts to. Joyce came and manned the booth while I did the presentation. Phyllis Stith and Faye Baldwin wrapped the six vets in their quilts. As I was going back to the booth after the presentation, a few vets stopped me and told me how much their quilt meant to them. Take pride in the fact that you bring so much joy to those who keep us free. If you take the Williamson Herald, you saw the very nice article that Carol Robinson wrote about Vet Fest. She also noted that CVQA had a presentation for six vets and a very nice explanation of the vets’ careers. She continues to give great publicity to our guild and our QOV committee.
We have several presentations scheduled for November so it will be a busy time for several of our committee members who will be doing presentations to veterans. Hope you make it to a Veteran’s Day event.
