26 May Volunteer at the Williamson County Fair
It’s almost time for the Williamson County Fair and we need lots of help “manning” the Quilt exhibit. The Fair will be held August 1-9 at the Agricultural EXPO Park in Franklin. Connie Little is in charge again (thank you, Connie!) and this year Valerie Curtis is managing volunteers (thank you, Valerie!). The fair is open from 6-10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10-10 Saturday, and 12-10 Sunday.
Here is a note from Valerie:
I’ll be doing the sign-ups for workers to give Connie one less thing to worry about. We usually start sign-ups at the May meeting, but things were too busy this year. The biggest change is that shifts will be four hours long, instead of two. That means we will need two people every night (three if we have a demo) from 6 until 10 p.m. That’s late for a lot of us, so if things are slow, you may leave at 9. Connie will be there until 10, so the quilts will be safe. By working a 4-hour shift, you will receive coupons for discounted food, as well as two tickets to the Fair that you can use or pass on to family or friends. For every shift we will need three people: one to sell raffle tickets, one to do a demo and one to talk to people about the quilts. We had lots of positive comments about the demos last year, so we are hoping to have them again.
Please contact me (Valerie Curtis) to sign up for your favorite times or ask any questions you may have. If you can, bring a husband or a friend to make the time pass faster. Husbands love selling raffle tickets. Please don’t wait for the meetings to sign up. We are getting a late start and really need you.
Thanks for your help!
Valerie
