Community Care Committee

You continue to set records with the Community Care Committee! Our committee received 24 quilts from you at the May guild meeting – give yourselves a pat on the back for your contribution to our community! Sixteen of the quilts were baby quilts. In the past month, we have donated 20 baby quilts to DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) for their service women’s baby shower, bringing our total donation to 31 baby quilts for their baby shower in May.

Guild member Jan Edleson manages our donation to DAR and said when she delivers them the DAR members ooh and aah over them, how sweet! I am sure the mothers receiving them will be just as thrilled. A quilt really is a special gift.
Pictured above is Jan with other DAR members getting ready for the baby shower. Look at all those baby items they are giving away! Also pictured is a stack of our quilts. Don’t they look lovely? Thank you, Jan, for giving us this opportunity to give back to our servicewomen and veterans. They have sacrificed so much to serve our country.

Come join the fun! Our workdays are the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. The next workdays will be June 12 and 26. We meet at the Bethesda Senior Center, starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m. Bring your lunch!
