Happy New Year ladies! We finished off 2025 with a housecleaning: We gave away all our ladies quilts (24 of them), all our pillowcases (21), all our Owl Buddies (13), and all our totes (6) to Bridges of Williamson County for their Christmas party. The party is for all the ladies that are currently living at the domestic violence shelter and for the ladies that have completed their yearlong program. Wow! Our Community Care Committee received 27 quilts, 17 Owl Buddies, and totes and pillowcases at the November meeting! In addition to that, Carol Stankiewicz donated five beautiful quilts for the domestic violence center's Christmas party. We have 22 women's quilts right now and I expect to get a few more at the December holiday party, so we will have enough for Bridges of Williamson County's Christmas party for women who have completed their yearlong program, and women who are currently staying at the shelter. Even though we haven't had in-person meetings for two months, CCC has received/finished up six quilts - and I’m sure I will be taking away a carload of quilts at our November meeting! We are in need of ladies’ quilts for the domestic violence center (Bridges of Williamson County) Christmas party for women that have completed their program. Not too much has taken place since the last newsletter. I have not given out any more quilts this month and will distribute quilts and other items in the weeks to come. If you have finished quilts or projects for our committee, you can drop them off at the Quilting Squares quilt shop. Just let them know it’s for me or the Community Care Committee. Believe it or not, our Community Care Committee received 21 quilts at the August guild meeting. Way to go members – thank you once again! Because of your generosity, we were able to donate a quilt to Bridges of Williamson County, our domestic violence center, for the silent auction at their fundraiser in September. We also donated 10 pillowcases, 10 bags, and 20 Owl Buddies to Bridges. They love our Owl Buddies! Believe it or not, we have depleted our quilt inventory this month! We have donated 32 quilts to Tennessee Kids Belong. Pictured is Hilary (with TKB) receiving the quilts. She says the kids love them! These quilts go to the kids that are up for adoption. TKB videotapes the kids, letting them tell their story. Then they put the videos on their website for people who are considering adoption. I cannot think of more deserving people to get our quilts – children without a permanent family or home. Hello guild members! Thank you for all the finished projects you left us at the June meeting. I will have “the little red cart” at our “Christmas in July” meeting at the library. You can drop off your completed CCC projects in the cart while you make a great Christmas craft. You continue to set records with the Community Care Committee! Our committee received 24 quilts from you at the May guild meeting – give yourselves a pat on the back for your contribution to our community! Sixteen of the quilts were baby quilts. In the past month, we have donated 20 baby quilts to DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) for their service women's baby shower, bringing our total donation to 31 baby quilts for their baby shower in May. Another month went by with contributions from you, thank you once again! At the March meeting, the Community Care Committee received 20 quilts, 9 of which were baby quilts. We also received 15 baby quilt tops from Valerie Curtis, along with fabric. We will sandwich these tops with batting, backing, and binding for you to pick up at the April meeting.
