At our February guild meeting we voted to continue donating baby quilts to Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Old Glory Chapter. They host an annual baby shower for service women and women veterans who are expecting a baby. They provide baby essentials to these women and asked us for baby quilt donations again this year. The theme of the block challenge for the 2025 Williamson County Fair is “Summer Nights and Fair Delights.” If you’d like to participate in the challenge, you can purchase a block kit from Connie Little. Block kits are $5 each. The kit includes fabric plus the rules and guidelines for constructing your block. The Fair will take place August 1-9, 2025, at the Williamson County Ag Expo Park – so completed blocks will be due sometime in early July. Christmas is a memory. Mine was a delightful “White One” with family in Wisconsin. New Year’s has come and gone. We’re already into February, with Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching. Golly!! How time flies by, ever so quickly!! Sorry that our January Guild Meeting had to be cancelled, but safety always comes first. When Williamson County Schools close due to dangerous weather, we don’t convene either. After we had to cancel our January meeting, First VP Michelle did some fancy footwork to adjust our 2025 calendar. 2025 came in with a wallop! I don't have much to report as we didn't have our January guild meeting and we have not given out any quilts yet this year. Our group that puts together kits down at the Bethesda Senior Center will continue to work hard to give you projects to take home and complete. Time is flying but things have been very slow due to the weather. Meetings got cancelled and contacts were slim. I went to the VVA meeting Jan. 13 and had several of the vets tell me how much they loved their quilt but did not present one. The one I was supposed to do fell through due to the vet's health issue. I asked his buddy to present the quilt since it meant so much to the guy. My vet agreed and I asked the members to be sure vets...

Our March speaker, Ann Moore, will teach a Corded Binding Workshop on Wednesday, March 5th at the Brentwood Library. Member fee is $60, which includes the kit. Our next CVQA quilting retreat is planned for March 10-15, 2025, at Place of Grace in Clarkrange, TN. The cost is $140. At our February 4th meeting we will introduce a new offering: our "Limited Series" small groups. Here's some information for you to start thinking about the offerings. English Paper Piecing by Hand offered by Valerie Curtis. There will be two half-day classes, which take place on Wed March 5 and Wed April 2 at Valerie's house in Franklin.
