[gallery ids="1171,1172,1173,1174,1175,1176"] You've done it again! The Community Care Committee received 19 quilts in January and February. What a great start to the new year! At our February guild meeting we voted to continue donating baby quilts to Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Old Glory Chapter. They host an annual baby shower for service women and women veterans who are expecting a baby. They provide baby essentials to these women and asked us for baby quilt donations again this year. The DAR’s baby shower is May 17, so think about sewing...

The theme of the block challenge for the 2025 Williamson County Fair is “Summer Nights and Fair Delights.” If you’d like to participate in the challenge, you can purchase a block kit from Connie Little. Block kits are $5 each. The kit includes fabric plus the rules and guidelines for constructing your block. The Fair will take place August 1-9, 2025, at the Williamson County Ag Expo Park – so completed blocks will be due sometime in early July. The blocks made for this year’s fair will be displayed with a label...

Christmas is a memory. Mine was a delightful “White One” with family in Wisconsin. New Year’s has come and gone. We’re already into February, with Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching. Golly!! How time flies by, ever so quickly!! Sorry that our January Guild Meeting had to be cancelled, but safety always comes first. When Williamson County Schools close due to dangerous weather, we don’t convene either. I hope that you enjoyed your “day off,” maybe you breathed a sigh, read a book, stitched a bit, or just relaxed on your extra day!! Board...

After we had to cancel our January meeting, First VP Michelle did some fancy footwork to adjust our 2025 calendar. Guest speaker Tracy Hansen (originally scheduled for February) has agreed to move to our June meeting, and we will cover the January agenda in February. Whew. Our February 4 meeting will focus on What the Guild Has to Offer to YOU in 2025: Pop Up Small Groups Several members have offered to facilitate a “limited series” small group, where we can learn from one another in a small setting. There will be time...

2025 came in with a wallop! I don't have much to report as we didn't have our January guild meeting and we have not given out any quilts yet this year. Our group that puts together kits down at the Bethesda Senior Center will continue to work hard to give you projects to take home and complete. Pictured is Denise Stokes and myself battling a roll of batting. That batting didn't want to give up its cover, but with a lot of tugging we prevailed! Needless to say, there was...

Time is flying but things have been very slow due to the weather. Meetings got cancelled and contacts were slim. I went to the VVA meeting Jan. 13 and had several of the vets tell me how much they loved their quilt but did not present one. The one I was supposed to do fell through due to the vet's health issue. I asked his buddy to present the quilt since it meant so much to the guy. My vet agreed and I asked the members to be sure vets...
