At the historic courthouse in Franklin on September 22, our precious Pat McMahon was presented this beautiful plaque from the Veterans Treatment Court and the local American Legion post. It was a beautiful afternoon of honor for many veterans at the 10th anniversary of the Court, which culminated in the presentation for Pat, and she got a standing ovation! I was at the CVQA retreat in September and it was wonderful. So many talented people and so many helpful hints! I made seven pillowcases and two tops! We have multiple presentations in the next few weeks. There are so many ladies working hard to assure our veterans know they are appreciated. Not too much has taken place since the last newsletter. I have not given out any more quilts this month and will distribute quilts and other items in the weeks to come. If you have finished quilts or projects for our committee, you can drop them off at the Quilting Squares quilt shop. Just let them know it’s for me or the Community Care Committee. OH MY!! It’s already mid-August and schools are in session, but it still feels like summer with lots of humidity and scorching temperatures!!!
