I was at the CVQA retreat in September and it was wonderful. So many talented people and so many helpful hints! I made seven pillowcases and two tops! We have multiple presentations in the next few weeks. There are so many ladies working hard to assure our veterans know they are appreciated. Not too much has taken place since the last newsletter. I have not given out any more quilts this month and will distribute quilts and other items in the weeks to come. If you have finished quilts or projects for our committee, you can drop them off at the Quilting Squares quilt shop. Just let them know it’s for me or the Community Care Committee. OH MY!! It’s already mid-August and schools are in session, but it still feels like summer with lots of humidity and scorching temperatures!!! Huge thanks to all the volunteers who helped “man” the quilt exhibit at the Williamson County Fair, especially my co-chair Valerie Curtis, who won “Best of Show” in both categories! August was a busy month for us. At our guild meeting we received 12 completed pillowcases, 6 completed quilts and 12 completed tops. Thank you, ladies, for all your hard work! If you haven’t made it to the Frist Art Museum yet, there is still time. The Frist’s exhibit entitled “Fabric of a Nation: American Quilt Stories from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston” is on display until October 12.
