It’s time to renew your CVQA membership for 2026! Annual dues are still $40 and include monthly meetings, access to all speakers (local and national), our monthly newsletter, and our members-only website (going live on January 1). Membership also allows you to participate in CVQA workshops, the guild’s quilt show, and our semi-annual retreats. There is no additional fee to renew online – everyone pays $40. Period....

CVQA members make quilts for the women who graduate each year from the Thistle Farms* program. Hollie Hart, chair of the CVQA Thistle Farms Committee, is issuing a call for quilts: There are six in the 2026 graduating class. I have one quilt left from last year so the first five to bring a quilt to our January 6 meeting – those will be gifted. I am constantly amazed at the generosity of my Thistle Farms committee. The best of the new year to all of you! Hollie * Thistle Farms...

The CVQA Ronald McDonald House* Quilt Committee completes and donates a quilt each year to the Nashville Ronald McDonald House to support its annual fundraising efforts. Our 2024 Ronald McDonald quilt raised $1,200 at the recent Light Up the House auction! Our 2025 Ronald McDonald quilt is nearing completion. Following Elizabeth Hartman’s Bunches of Bunnies pattern, all bunnies have been completed, and the committee co-chairs (Maureen Prester-Henry and Kathy Boyuka) need a few volunteers to sew the bunnies into rows. If you would like to help, find Maureen at the...

Sometimes we are burning the candle at both ends, and that is the case for the QOV committee! This is a combination report for both November and December: In November, we had a presentation for a group of veterans identified by the Spring Hill DAR group, and it was amazing! On November 17, Sandy Cole and Pam DeLong did a presentation at a nursing home for seven veterans. We had a presentation at Vet Court that Pam did because I was at a retreat. (I learned a lot and had...

Happy New Year ladies! We finished off 2025 with a housecleaning: We gave away all our ladies quilts (24 of them), all our pillowcases (21), all our Owl Buddies (13), and all our totes (6) to Bridges of Williamson County for their Christmas party. The party is for all the ladies that are currently living at the domestic violence shelter and for the ladies that have completed their yearlong program. I can't think of a better place for our donations to go to. It takes a lot of bravery to...

A note from Holiday Party Committee chair, Kay Fisher: Parties are a time to step away from the worries of the world and to reflect and celebrate the people, joyous events and accomplishments of the year gone by. Especially at holiday time, we share the love, act with kindness and even find some peace in our hearts. So let’s do just that as we delight in each other’s company, share a delicious lunch, play a game or two and honor our president, Joyce Oberle. Details: Our annual holiday party and lunch will be...

In 2024, the CVQA Ronald McDonald committee completed the Butterfly by Tula Pink (pictured below), which will be auctioned off at the 2025 Light Up the House event on December 10th. Once again, WKRN Channel 2 News will host and showcase the event throughout the day. The final tabulation on donations will be made during the 6 p.m. news broadcast, and hopefully the goal will be reached and the House lit up! The auctions for donated items, including our quilt, will be open that day. WKRN will work on making...

Our Ronald McDonald House Committee is nearing completion on this year’s “Bunny Bunch” quilt, pattern by Elizabeth Hartman. Committee chair Maureen Prester-Henry is displaying three of the bunnies in the photo below. But they’ve been multiplying like – well, you know! – and there will be 24 in the finished quilt. The quilt will be offered at next year's Ronald McDonald fundraising auction. Maureen and co-chair Kathy Boyuka have already selected the pattern – Pixie Medallion – for our 2026 Ronald McDonald quilt. If you’d like to serve on the committee...
