You’re in luck: It’s not too late to volunteer to help “man” the Quilt exhibit at the Williamson County Fair! The Fair will be held August 1-9 at the Agricultural EXPO Park in Franklin. Connie Little is in charge again (thank you, Connie!) and this year Valerie Curtis is managing volunteers (thank you, Valerie!). The Frist Art Museum is hosting an exhibit entitled “Fabric of a Nation: American Quilt Stories from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston” from June 27 through October 12. The exhibit features nearly 50 quilts and coverlets made from the 18th century up to 2021. Its annual Celebration will take place July 17-19, when Laurel McKay Horton will be recognized as its 2025 honoree. Among many other accomplishments, Laurel served for ten years as editor of “Uncoverings,” the American Quilt Study Group’s annual publication. Hello guild members! Thank you for all the finished projects you left us at the June meeting. I will have “the little red cart” at our “Christmas in July” meeting at the library. You can drop off your completed CCC projects in the cart while you make a great Christmas craft. However, I will not be bringing in projects to the library for you to pick up and complete at home – you will just have to wait until the August guild meeting! Once again, we have so many people to be thankful for! Carol Stankewicz brought us a bunch of labels for our quilts. She does a great job of making them. A couple of folks who make their own quilts needed some labels, then I took the others to the center for Pam DeLong to use when she puts the quilting sets together.
